February came with a lot of work.
But will I complain? No!!!
Actually, I’m here to complain a lil bit😂.
I just gave my home a mini reset - a deep clean, some cooking, and swaying my hips to Beautiful Nubia. I've discovered a new joy in making my own meals. Interestingly, I realized I used to tell love interests I didn't like cooking just to avoid being asked to cook for them. Now, I'll proudly say I love making my own meals - but only for myself 😂.
February is shaping up to be a busy month, despite having the fewest days. I've got a packed schedule with 17 work shifts. While I did ask for this, I'm still allowed to complain, right?
Living alone for almost a month now has been a blessing. I cherish my personal space, even when I'm screaming Hozier's lyrics at the top of my lungs. I do feel for my neighbors, they must think I'm a mysterious, screeching creature living in the dimly lit apartment next door.
The other night, I craved street food (Rice 300, spag 200 type of vibe), but ended up trying out a restaurant instead. What started as a casual outing turned into a fun, tipsy night. Apparently, I transformed into a Yoruba rapper and performed Olamide's "Voice of the Street" and Davolee's "Festival Bar" - though I have zero recollection of it. These are the moments that make life worth living.
Slowly but surely, my life is coming together. I'm excited for this new phase, and I'm grateful for the little joys that make life good.
That's all for now - enjoy this short newsletter.
Love,
Adesewa.
