To follow my dream🫠

Hiiiiii🥺. I know I promised to write after a few days the last time but life just dey throw me up and down😂.

Let’s get to the gist. Yes, I quit my job. To follow my dream? Heh, partially 😂. And oh, it’s not the dream of being a writer, I don’t have enough funds to pull a move like that 😂. I am going to be a psychiatric nurse 🤭🎊.

For my new subscribers, I am a professional, registered and licensed nurse🌚 (big flex yunno🤩) and during my last year recap, I mentioned something about applying for psychiatry studies and they gave me ela😂. Guess who applied again this year 😂.

I did not want to apply. I just wanted to quit my job because it was draining me. I worked for an Health Maintenance Organization because I did not want to do clinicals. I saw shege😂😂 overworked, underpaid and under appreciated. A friend of mine (we did basic nursing together) kept texting me a day before the form for psychiatry studies closed and I decided to give it a chance. I called my parents and told them “I don’t have shishi to sponsor myself oh😂” and they told me to go ahead. Got the form, went for the exam.

Now the waiting period for the list almost wounded me. I knew I was done working for now, I did not even stay in my apartment again (like I said in the last newsletter). I was also constantly sick and still going to work. Till the last week of April, we’ve not heard anything from the school but I told my parents to send a car so I can pack my stuffs and leave Ibadan😂. My mum kept asking me if I was sure. I was not sure, all I knew is, I was tired.

Few days later, the list came out and my name was on it💃. But the hardest part was that we had to pay half a million within a week😂. Sounds like a joke but it’s not😹. That’s how I called Alhaji Adeomi again that e don sup oh😂😭. My dad asked me to come home first and I went home the following Monday. Bear in mind that I had not dropped my resignation letter because even though I was tired of working, I don’t think I’ll like being broke😂. Monday evening, my dad called me and told me I’ll have to go to school to pay the fee on Wednesday 😮. I was momentarily dumb tori I kept asking him to repeat what he said till he stood up and left me alone😂.

Tuesday morning, I sent my resignation letter via mail to the company and they replied that my resignation is not accepted 😂. I laughed so hard ehn. They further told me that I absconded and I’ll be prosecuted😂😂. Someone called me from the company and said I had to pay them a certain amount if I want my resignation to be effective immediately 😂. Me wey don prepare for them. I worked at the company for a whole year and they never remitted my pension fund into my pension account. I complained back then and nothing was done about it. So I informed them to pay my pension first and I’ll pay them their money too😂. I never hear anything again since then 😭😹.

Tuesday night, Alhaji Adeomi don credit me🙈. Went to school on Wednesday morning (fokin long journey😭) got my admission letter and paid the fees.

So right now, I’m jobless and back to depending on my parents for the next two years😒. You people should send me funds abeg😩.
