New Beginnings🥂

And new problems😒

It's a new year, which means new challenges. Not in a bad way, but in a progressive kind of way. Happy New Year, guys!

In my last newsletter, I wrote about navigating life after school and other stuff. Well, I've got a new job, moved into my own apartment, and once again, I'm starting from scratch.

For the record, this is my second time moving to another city for a new job and living alone, but I feel like this time it was necessary. Let me explain: the first time I moved out of my parents' house was in 2022, and it was solely because I wanted to escape from home. I was tired of being at home, so I looked for a job in another city and moved (the OGs here will remember).

Back then, I wanted to prove that I was really independent and could do everything quickly on my own. My dear, I almost died! I didn't ask for help because my parents, especially my dad, were against me moving out. I had almost half a million saved back then, so I thought, "F**k it, I can do this." But I couldn't.

After renting an apartment, my money dwindled drastically. I started living from hand to mouth, thank God my parents couldn't bring themselves to cut me off, so I still received allowances.

Fast forward to the present day, this move and new job were necessary. I'm no longer 20, and I couldn't leech off my parents forever. But I learned a new lesson: I asked for help this time around – from my brothers, parents, friends, everyone contributed. And guess what? Everything started falling into place.

Is this your sign to stand on your own and ask people to support you? No, because "iya le je e" (you might suffer). I have an amazing support system, which made it a little easier for me, but still, I'm still using style to see shege😂.

This year started on a good note, and I'm hoping it'll stay that way. I'm excited to unravel everything it holds for me.
